In countries like France or Italy, 341 million bottles of wine are used each year.

Glass is a durable material, but if we look at the wine production chain and consider a vintage wine, that bottle will be re-melted after just a few weeks or months.

Some of these bottles are discarded into the environment or disposed of incorrectly, and only a portion is recycled properly.

Considering the properly recycled portion, we can say that remelting glass results in new CO₂ emissions into the environment and the use of materials such as sand, silicon, etc.

We therefore see an enormous amount of CO₂ emitted into the environment due to the impossibility of refilling a wine bottle.

Those who work for Divestro offer:

  • Organised collection of wine bottles
  • Cutting and polishing of glass according to Tuscan craftsmanship
  • Cold working, without the use of ovens, thus avoiding the release of CO₂

The Renaissance

"La Renaissance" represents our mission to give new life to every wine bottle, joining the tradition of Tuscan craftsmanship.

Through creative reuse, we transform bottles into sustainable works of art, thus reducing environmental impact.

What is the difference between Glossy Finish and Satin Finish

If you're wondering what the difference is between the two finishes, we'll explain it to you right away.

The Satin finish begins with cutting the bottles using a diamond saw. Then, three distinct grinding processes are performed on the internal, front, and external surfaces of the newly cut bottle. This treatment gives the glass a satin and smooth finish, while maintaining a natural and artisanal look. This finish is particularly suitable for rustic environments, where it can enhance the authentic and intrinsic beauty of the glass.

The Glossy finish also begins with cutting the bottles using a diamond saw, followed by a single grinding step. Then, the internal, external, and front surfaces of the bottle are polished through a sanding process, where sandpaper strips rapidly pass over the surface. Finally, the bottle is polished using felt pads impregnated with water, pumice, and cerium, giving the glass a radiant shine. This finish is ideal for modern and elegant environments, adding a touch of refinement and brightness.
