Why choose recycled glass to furnish your space?

In Italy alone, 341 million wine bottles are used every year.

Glass is a durable material, but if we examine the wine supply chain and consider, for example, a vintage wine, then that bottle will be melted down after only a few weeks or months.

Some of these bottles are dispersed in the environment or disposed of incorrectly, and only a portion is disposed of properly.

Considering the portion that is correctly recycled, we can say that the remelting of glass involves new CO2 emissions into the environment and the use of materials such as sand, silicon, etc.

We therefore note an enormous amount of CO2 emitted into the environment due to the impossibility of refilling a wine bottle.

The people working for Divestro offer:

  • An organized collection of wine bottles

  • Glass cutting and grinding according to Tuscan craftsmanship

  • The execution of cold working, without the use of ovens, thus avoiding the dispersion of Co2

The rebirth

"La rebirth" represents our mission to give new life to every bottle of wine, joining the tradition of Tuscan craftsmanship.

Through creative reuse, we transform bottles into sustainable works of art, reducing environmental impact.

What do Polished Finish and Satin Finish mean

If you're wondering what the difference is between the two processes, we'll explain it right away.

The Satin finish process begins with cutting the bottles using a diamond saw. Subsequently, three distinct grinding processes are performed on the internal, front, and external surfaces of the freshly cut bottle. This treatment gives the glass a satin and polished finish, while maintaining a natural and artisanal aesthetic. This finish is particularly suitable for rustic environments, where it can enhance the genuine and intrinsic beauty of the glass.

The Polished finish also starts with cutting the bottles using a diamond saw, followed by a single grinding phase. Subsequently, the internal, external, and front surfaces of the bottle are smoothed through the sanding process, where sandpaper belts quickly pass over the surface. Finally, polishing is achieved using felts impregnated with water, pumice stone, and cerium, which give the glass its brilliance. This finish is ideal for modern and elegant environments, adding a touch of sophistication and luster.
